Part of the Blå Band Expedition Meal series, this meal tastes great and is easy to prepare: just pour boiling water into the bag, mix and let sit for 10 minutes. Can also be prepared in cold water, using a waiting time of at least 30 minutes.

Our Verdict

Staff here at UOG have found Bla Band’s meals pretty tasty and easy to prepare. All you have to do is simply fill the packet up to the indicated level with hot or cold water, stir, wait a little and your ready to go! Not all food brands feature a water level indicator but we prefer they did as they are incredibly helpful.

The packaging is made from Flextrus Transofoil, which is both fully recyclable as a plastic and is designed in such a way to act as an excellent insulator, helping keep your meal hotter for longer.

There’s something for everyone as Bla Band’s meals cater for people with special dietary requirements. Some of the meals are suitable for vegetarians, those with lactose intolerance and people who need their food to be gluten free.

Ingredients:

• Pasta (52%) (durum wheat flour, salt), vegetables (broccoli 6.7%, red pepper, carrot, parsnip, onion), cheese powder (9.8%), palm fat, modified potato, cream powder, maltodextrin, lactose, salt, sugar, milk protein, whey protein (from milk), emulsifier: E451, soya lecithin, flavouring, turmeric, rice flour.

Preparations:

1 – Tear off the top and fold out the bottom
2 – Add 400 ml of boiling water (level G)
3 – Stir
4 – Re-seal, wait 10 mins
Add more water if required
Can be prepared using cold water, extend the time to > 30 mins
