What does give energy to Sean Villanueva O’Driscoll’s crazy adventures? One of the most dedicated big wall climber created with us his own recipe for a vegan meal. Sean has a really good taste and eats very healthy. No wonder that in the meal you will find carefully selected vegetables and perfect-matched spices. Everything served in a creamy coconut sauce with basmati rice. It couldn’t be Sean’s if there will not be a pint of craziness added so you will find in this special veggie curry a good portion of healthy nettle leaves. The Nettle Curry by Sean Villanueva O’Driscoll is the first meal out of a unique menu of meals developed together with our brand ambassadors.

We are cooking before freeze-drying. In our pouches there are no artificial additives, no extra sugar, no palm oil and no preservatives! Our meals are made from 100% natural ingredients and some of them are growing on our own fields.

Our Verdict

LYO have tried to take a different route with their meals focussing on natural, fresh ingredients and no preservatives or artificial additives. They proudly cultivate some of the fruits and herbs on their own fields. Other fruits and herbs as well as vegetables come from farmers known to them personally. All ingredients are carefully verified to ensure that their products meet the highest quality standards.

The majority of the meals use interesting combinations of natural ingredients with chunky vegetables, authentic flavours and more of a home cooked approach. We’ve been lucky enough to test a variety of them and have always been impressed with the end results. Generally, we appreciated the good combinations of flavour, texture and portion size.

The fill line for adding water to the packs is novel with a blue area from the bottom showing how much water is required. It is quite a subtle design feature that can be easy to miss and some form of internal indicator would be best but it still works.

Excellent ingredients in an innovative meal – We’ve singled out LYO’s Expedition Nettle Curry as one of our top recommendations because the large chunks of vegetable and use of natural ingredients are some of the best we’ve ever seen.
